I understand that this override may >not be well documented on 1998 models. It's in the 1999 U.S. manual. You got it in one. It is a stranding failure if you don't know about the button. It is not documented at all in the Oz 1998 model handbook. And Saab dealers knew there was a problem with the solenoid but didn't tell the customers about the little tiny button which is just above the W button on my auto transmission. And I didn't happen to have my mobile phone with me, and I happened to be some miles from a phone. Can you imagine my joy, when I got onto my dealer, told him the problem, and he said, yes, we know about that one, just press that little button....... I was really happy, walking back to the car! Just another way to win friends and influence people. -- Regards, Peter Wilkins (wilkinspnopsamnet.au)
