The fuel pump's gone bad in my '86 900 8v. There were the classic symptoms of a droning sound coming from the gas tank, and after awhile, the engine started cutting out when 1/4 full. Now it's no longer working and the car will not start. I'm going to try to do this myself, since I was able to get the car home and the nearest import mechanic is 15 miles away. I seem to be getting some conflicting info from the between my local auto parts store and the Haynes manual. Does this car have one pump or two? Or am I just going to have to pull it out to find out? The main pump is expensive ~$250 so I want to make sure what I order is correct? By the way, are the Saabnet.com pages down? I was going to check there first but got no response from the site I had bookmarked. _________________________________________________________________ Greg Youngen St. Joseph IL youngennopsam.edu
