Whether it is the 2.0L or 2.3L, from what I have seen motor mounts,
upper and lower, seem to last depending on how clean you keep your
engine. Oil seems to be the culprit that breaks down the rubber in the
lower mounts, and once they go the upper mounts will surely follow. The
lower mounts had to be replaced on my 87 9000S before I would buy it at
145,890. I replace the uppers after and keep the engine pretty clean. I
have 177,681 on the car now and so far so good. As for the lower control
arm bushings, I had mine replaced at about 162,000 miles. The car took
on a new personality. It road smoother, the steering was tighter and the
uneven tire wear I had in the front disappeared.
