The clutch for your A/C compressor has gone out. I went through this with my 87 9000S last year. In most cases you will have to replace the compressor. I went with a rebuilt from Impex Distributors, 1-800-736-3550. The compressor cost me about $310 including shipping and return of the core to them. I had my Saab indy install the rebuilt compressor, a new rec/dryer, expansion valve and 1 pound of R-12 for about $400...Good luck.
