DP, IMHO, Midas is a scam. They sell you a $20 muffler for $65 and will replace it free forever. Problem is, the attached $20 pipes that they sold you for $150 *aren't* warrantied. All those $20 parts have an anticipated lifetime of about a year, then they get to take a $45 hit on the muffler and make it back twice over selling you some more overpriced pipe. If you put a real Saab system on, it will fit right, sound right, the car will run right, and it should last at least 5 years (speaking from my experience living in Mass.). And IIRC, they offer a lifetime warranty on *all* the parts, not just the muffler(s). A much better deal if you ask me. Besides, as I told a friend once, if you put enough Chevy parts on your Saab, eventually you're gonna turn it into a Chevy. Is that what you want? BTW, won't go into it too much, but I think Midas brake jobs are even more of a scam. About 10 years ago, I bought a Saab 99 that had just had $875 of brake work at Midas. Within a year, I had to replace *all* the parts they had installed - 2 front calipers, 2 front rotors, pads front and rear. Geez - what a bargain!
