I readily admit to a lack of knowledge in the evolution of the 900SE over the last six years. That being said, I visited the local dealer Saturday with the half-baked idea of trading in my '94 900SE with 99K miles toward a low mileage '97 900SE. I took the '97 for quite a test drive and couldn't believe that this was the same car, at least in name. It looked the same, but this was a mere ghost of the driver's car my '94 is. This is certainly my bias and top priority - the sheer excitement of driving, which my '94 has delivered in spades for every day of the two years I've owned it. In terms of steering, throttle and braking response there was no comparison. I realize now that I wouldn't have taken the '97 as an even trade for my '94. Funny, because my original goal was to pay about $10K plus my '94. Can anyone else confirm these impressions? Somewhat at work today suggested that yes, Saab really started to compromise on the 900 but has since made a comeback with the 9-3. I don't have a clue, but was hoping there is much more knowledge among the ng. Ciao, Barry
