Malcolm (& Jim), Thanks a million for your advice on my rear defog problem. It was the relay! Works perfectly now! If it worked once and hasn't again then either: 1) THe fuse has blown. 2) The replacement switch is fried. 3) The heated rear window relay is fried (fuse should protect) Try and get the correct switch and then check the above. If the window does not defog turn off everything and check with a meter the resistance across the window using the contacts where the wires go on. should be about 6 - 8 ohms. If no circuit then all the elements or the contacts are stuffed. If ok check the earth (ground) from the window to the car body, there should be very little resistance. Again if open circuit the earthing has failed. Turn on switch and ignition and check the voltage from the window to ground, this should tell you if power is getting to the window, get on both sides of the window to ground too. if it's about 12v on one side and less than 6 on the other you have a dodgy connection somewhere that allows the volts through, but not the amps. I had this problem with a 1991 900 3 door and final traced it to corroded connections under the rear seat fusebox! Good luck, post if you check these things and still can't get it working, will try and work out what's going on!!!! Good luck, MAlc Scotland Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
