Yes, this type of problem can be a big pain to rectify.  One possible
solution that I have heard of but not tried is running a wire between the
two grounding points for each of the rear taillights.  The longer way is to
pull every bulb out and clean the contacts with something like WD-40, but of
course, neither of these is a guaranteed fix.
