If you are lucky it has just come off and you will be able to reconnect it. If you are not so lucky one end or the other is stripped and you will have to replace the switch (dial) and/or the shaft. If you've really been living badly and your karma is seriously fouled, it will be a frozen heater flow valve and a stripped shaft - prepare for serious dash work! Phil Sharkey
