Subject: Changing tire size

Hi My wife drives a 1996 SAAB 900SEt. When we bought it, it came with 205 50 16 tires. It has all season tires in the front, with probably a years worth of rubber left. And just regular tires on the rear. The rears only have a few months left. As winter approaches, I really don't want to run the rears as they sit, and finding an affordable replacement is becoming a chore. I'm finding a lot of 205 55 16's to choose from. Is there any problem going to the 55's. And to take it one step further,,, how about goint to 55's on the front, and 50's on the rear until the 50's wear out? I know that I'm being cheap, but I'm not about to put $150 tires on just because that is what the guy that I bought it from did. We don't need a high performance tire. I would rather have a good all around tire that will bet good mileage. Thanks Dave
