I've had the same problem. After trying everything and in combination with being just lazy, I have found that a detailer's clay bar works the best. It shears away treesap and other goop, leaving a clean surface without a lot of 'elbow grease.' Since then, I have resisted buying a car cover in favour of waxing the car once a month. Also being lazy, I use spray wax. No longer do I need a nap afterwards like when I used to use carnuba paste. Enjoy, Alex "chip grabow" <grabowcnopsamk.net> wrote in message news:38160307.B1F30FB6nopsamk.net... > i have a 99 9-3 SE and, after parking under some pine trees this summer, > the car has had about 5-10 dime size splotches of tree sap. > unfortunately i ignore until now and find that, even tho products like > Turtle Wax bug and tar remover worked in the past, it didn't work in > this case. it seems the sun's baked the sap into a hard finish. > > what can anyone suggest? thanks much.
