He found that this was the problem by running the engine and spraying a fine mist of water over the leads - presumably with the plug cover plate taken off (if yours is an 8v I think the leads are exposed anyway). He could then see electric arcing (very small sparks) from the faulty lead - basically one cylinder didn't fire properly when it was wet. I'm afraid I can't tell you more as I wasn't there at the time, but do be careful if you decide to start spraying water on the engine. -- brad
