I had a problem on my 87 900S a while back where the engine would cut out but restart immediately. It appeared to be electrical as the tach would go to 0 when it did this. My Saab tech cleaned all the ground points and the problem hasn't recurred. Get the electrical schematics and try to locate the grounds and clean them.
