Well, I've had my 96 900SEt for about a year now... just a little over. In that time it's cost me somewhere in the region of $4000 to maintain... but I have also driven over 30,000 miles in that year so I feel it about balances out. Also, I've been dealing with "buggy" problems because the previous owner apparently tried to increase the performance by replacing the plugs with platinum plugs, replacing thermostat etc. etc. ad nauseum. Unfortunately I had no record of this when I bought the car and have only found these little things when problems have arisen because of them. For example, my ignition module went kablooie because of the plugs, my car had problems going from idle to run because of the T-stat etc. etc. I'll probably spend another 6 months or so dealing with a few more little problems like this... but since my last big service (65K, plus new tires, plus loads of other bits and pieces... about $2300) the car's been running great! Next big thing that needs replaced is the A/C compressor which has become very noisy of late. Thankfully it's cold enough that it's not needed... but I'm gonna need to fix it next year! -- Gavin Haslett thumper_svxnopsamo.com http://www.geocities.com/thumper_svx "Ahhhh...
