Hello Saab Owners, My sister and I were in her two year old Saab 93 last week in London. While stationary, with the engine running, the drivers side side-airbag went off. There was a deafening explosion and the car filled with white fumes. If we had been in motion, I think it very likely we would have swerved, quite possibly resulting in a serious accident. The car had not been struck by any vehicle and no sudden acceleration had occurred to trigger the airbag - it was stationary. Obviously in a safety system like an airbag the probability of an erroneous deployment such as this should be as near zero as is technically possible. I suspect that this a rare event, but its consequences are so serious that it would be prudent for Saab 93 owners to check with their dealers on it. Are there any other Saab owners who have experienced this problem? Does anyone know of any accidents which might have been caused by erroneous airbag deployment? James
