Maybe in the OG900 it was preprogrammed, but in the NG900 it only comes on when there is a problem. The SID will periodically chime in with a "Time for Service" message that you can ignore, but the check engine light should be looked at (especially if it's staying on). The cost to just check the code returned by the light should be negligible, if anything. They've got a hand held computer that connects to the plug under the dash. From there you can decide what to do. It may just be that the coolant is weak. Cheers, Scott. yordisnopsamail.com wrote: > > my 85 900 has 338k miles and has never been to the shop. if you want to > spend money take it to a shop but if you are not in california and not > concerned about polution (non existent) then take the bulb out by > removing > the speaker grill on the drivers side and finding the bulb. just for > reference the light is programed to come on every 30k so you will take > it > in to give them more money. > > Gavin Haslett wrote: > > > I would suggest first taking it to a dealer and finding out WHY the > > light came on before you start trying to turn it off.
