when we got our blizzak's mounted on steel rims, the people who did it for us were a bit leary and tried very hard to persuade us NOT to do this on the basis that it would "do strange things with/ruin" our ABS. i have yet to see a real problem with the braking system, although i was wondering if anyone else did this and the problems encountered, if any. our winter set: 4 blizzaks on steel-15 inch. our other set: something or other on 16 inch. the car is a '91 9000 turbo. btw, Matt, i've been using the blizzarks for three seasons-winter only-and am quite pleased with them. particularly if you find a patch of ice under snow.
