Subject: Re: SPG on city streets

What do you expect 165..185hp?! A SGP has lower/stiffer springs and different shocks (road holding kit, blue SACHS) and stabilizers. When you compare the SGP (AERO) to a 900i: YES- it feels harder but also thereīs much, much more road holding capacity (especially if the shocks / springs ... are new and havenīt done 100.000 miles - donīt forget to change them!). Itīs more directly to drving inputs and you feel that you can still concern at amazing speeds at corneres where the 900i shouted LIMIT!!! Sure there are the physical laws, but the SGP is still forgiving - exept: (good hint) donīt shift down in fast corners!!! - (Saabīs are made to fly?! Try this at a safe place, especially if the front shocks are worn, icy roads.. - you wonīt believe) My opinion is that the suspenison of the old 900 is much better than the one of the front heading 9000 and the new 900/9-3!!! BUT itīs also very hard, if you go on very low profiled tires it may be too hard (205/50 and below) for every day driving. When you stay with the standard tires itīs not too comfortable, but itīs comfortable for a sporty car! City driving is no problem, Autobahns too - only one point: itīs not a great highway car above 80mph - it revīs too high, thereīs missing a 6th gear and the engine is too loud for very long distances!
