Saying "hard and unsupportive" is often a contradiction. A seat has to be firm to support your body in the right places. A seat that is too soft will be very comfortable at first, but tiring on a long drive. The most comfortable seats I've been in for a cross-country drive have been in a 911. At the beginning of the trip, we assumed that it would be murder as the stock seats are quite firm. However, we found that we had much less fatigue at the end of the day. I can tell with certainty that it is much the same with bicycle seats, which I sell. You will not see any long distance cyclists riding on the big, padded cruiser seats.
