It is quite possible, one good high-speed whack, and the lot dislodges. I've never had a problem, but then again I always use the rubbers (get your minds out of the gutter, people!) You can always cut out an equivalent from rubber (after all it's just a rubber diamond with a hole in it) but it's probably going to be easier to just get them as a new replacement part or scrounge them at the wreckers.
