How much did your dealer charge? >thanks in advance. >Rodel Okay, if you really want to fix this yourself: 1: remove the shift boot from the console and pull it up so that it is out of the way. 2: remove the 3 (I believe) torx screws holding the shift rod in. 3: pull up on the shift rod. if it does not come out, look for more fasteners. 4: hold the shifter in your hand, and pull up on the reverse lockout lever. Notice which piece moves as you do this. 5: adjust the lockout rod by screwing it by hand out so that 22-23 mm of it is sticking out from the rest of the shift assembly. 6: re-insert the shifter into the console, before you put the torx back in make sure that you can shift into gears and that the reverse lockout is functioning. If it is not functioning correctly, shorten the lockout rod and try again. 7: tighten it all back down and enjoy 5th gear. This is how it works on my '87 900. The 94 should not be so different, but the amount of length needed on the lockout rod might be. Have fun, and realize that I am not liable for the use and/or misuse of these instructions.
