If it is the 9-3 style rotary control, both of my knobs cracked after about one year so my dealer replaced the heater control box. I think the controls are just as stiff but we'll see if this fixes the problem. I looked at the cracked knobs and I was really disappointed to see that Saab had used really cheap, brittle plastic to line the control knobs.
