Thanks for the advice. As it turns out, the first time they replaced the battery. The second time they found the ignition contact switch connector loose and resecured it. I'm not convinced that it isn't a more serious electrical problem or that it won't happen again. I'm no mechanic, but if the car is running, why does the battery or ignition have anything to do with the engine dying? (Unless they think I stalled it out - manual transmission - and so didn't think too much about the idle->dying thing.) Like you say, it's under warranty, and in NY I'm 50% to a lemon.....
