Ok I have a really weids problem, the plastic trim, infact the whole assembly around the gearstick wobbles when I move the stick which means that the gear stick feels like its in jelly and its really hard to shift gear quickly. I've had the trim off and tightened up everyting I could fine including a weird bolt which looked like you needed a three pronged tool to tighten it, I managed with a pair of pliers, its better but still a bit wobbly. Is there anyting else that needs tightening or is it as good as its going to get. The cars an 88 900i and the gearstick went like this suddenly, one day it was fine the other it was like this.
