Worn out alternator mounting bushings are common on all OG 900's. There are two bushings which the alternator pivots on, and then two more where the adjustment arm bolts to the engine block. Not too tough a job, just a pain in the butt to get at the alt pivot bolt. If you already know your rims are bent, I wouldn't be surprised by vibrations at highway speed. If you are that unhappy with the KYB's go back to the stock Boge or the firmer Bilsteins. Fix the alt bushings, and then see if that cures your idle vibration.
