In hot weather, 25W-50 will work fine. I used 20W-50 in my '82 900T when I lived in the Mojave desert. I also found that 10W-30 gives me an occasional oil light at idle when hot, but 10W-40 decreases those instances significantly. You shouldn't use any oil (less than 1 litre between changes). Switch back to the heavier oil and see if consumption decreases again... --------------------- John R.
