Subject: Re: Weird 900i Gearstick problem

Hi, I think that you'll find that there are *three* of these weird bolts, and that at least one of the remaining two need to be tightened (solidly!). Two at the front of the console, one aft of the ignition switch. Once those are done, get back to us to tell us what's still wobbling. I've had enough trouble in that area in my cars myself . . . Some people find that doing this kind of work is done best with the driver's seat removed (remember to unplug the seat heater cable...) You can fashion your own three-pronged tool by chopping up the end of a piece of thin pipe (inside diameter about 7mm I think), or buy the real thing from Saab, if you're thinking about multiple visits to that part of the car in the future ;-) Regards, Robert Matt wrote: > Ok I have a really weids problem, the plastic trim, infact the whole > assembly around the gearstick wobbles when I move the stick which means that > the gear stick feels like its in jelly and its really hard to shift gear > quickly.
