I have just bought an 85 900 16v turbo that has done a very high milage. The discs are badly worn. It is fitted with solid discs. I have bought a set of non-vented discs and new pads, but when I fit the new discs, the outer pad will not fit. The old discs look about 9mm thick. The new discs are 13 mm thick, as specified in the Haynes manual. The new pads are 16 mm thick, giving a total of 45 mm. The calipers only seem to have enough space for 40 mm pad plus disc, with the cylinder wound back. The previous owner seemed to have similar problems. I would be grateful if anyone can throw some light on this. Obviously, one of the parts is wrong. Colin Tapp colinnopsam.demon.co.uk
