If you want pure performance, both Swedish car companies make fast sporty sedans for about the same price. If you want the thrill of a turbo all-wheel drive (but with a automatic only), then you will have to get a XC. I would agree with you wanting Saab. I like sporty cars with manual transmissions and turbo charged engines for "recreational" driving. Volvo seems to think nobody wants manuals anymore, so if you want a fast Swedish car with a manual it has to be a Saab.
