A lower profile gives greater control of the car, but unfortunately also require higher tyre ressures. I have changed from standard issue 15" 195/65 tyres to 16" 205/55 with new alloys. Interpolating the from the 9000CSE owners manual, the new wheel/tyre combination require 33.5 psi instead of 30 psi previously. Lowering the pressure will give a softer ride, but affects tyre wear and handling, so this is not a good idea. Use 33 psi and don't overinflate. Around town driving can be a little bumpy, but the greater stability and control of the car out of town is the other side of the coin. Sometimes I see youngsters in escorts fittet with /40 profile tyres, these strictly require a pressure around 38 psi, ugh! that must feel really hard. Johannes
