Subject: Re: roof 1995 convertible

Hi Johan! (This is RCS, nice having you back again!) Sorry to hear this! Thatīs happening cause the 900II has a electrical operated roof system and not an electro/hydraulical as the old 900. I heared from my local SAAB convertible expert they going to change it to an electro/hydraulical system again. The electrical system has often failtures, sometimes opening to a point and then sticking. This may happen if a sensor does not work correctly or the e-motor is desturbed - by the running engine or if the cars is not parked on even surface. You should complain a lot at your dealer and maybee they give you a free fix. And take care of the top cloth!!!!Really, donīt forget about this! Donīt open the roof if itīs wet or frozen! Donīt use automatic car washers and avoid wax on the roof! Impregnate the roof and keep it clean, donīt use lots of shampoo or special top cleaners and clean it rarely! When you clean it rinse it a lot - every rest of cleaning solution must be rinsed out again. And then when itīs dry impregnate it! Thereīs a special top impregnation spray available form Porsche to keep the dirt out of the top, to keep it smooth and to avoid cracking of the top cloth. If you know any other spray please tell me! You will need a new top anyway after 8 years cause the frames work through and if you donīt care youīll need a new one earlier! - And itīs amazing expensive! Enjoy every warm day now - Iīll do the same!!!
