Jeez, this is like some kind of virus! [theatric gesture] I just posted a message elsewhere on this ng about my problems due to a short in the wiring surrounding the engine compartment. One of the modular plugs halfway up the driver's side of the engine compartment was badly connected, and the pins required re-stripping and attachment (much like old cables on PCs, mainframes, etc. used to be). Now this weird problem doesn't happen, well, it hasn't in the last two days since I had a mechanic track it down. The description you put forth nearly duplicates my original estimation. It was as if the fuel flow was being cut off intermittently, disallowing any restarting eventually. The original idea the mechanics had was that it might be a relay in the fuel path that closes the flow in case of fire, and that, as it aged, the less heat it could tolerate. Well, now we know differently in this case. A short near the fual pump could also cause this, but I got away with the above without asking for a formal electrical diagnosis... :) Stephen Goodman EarthLight Productions * http://www.earthlight.net "Houston Dragon" <jhosienopsamspring.com> wrote in message news:38FF484E.97A07FA3nopsamspring.com... > Okay, I just recently purchased my 1991 Saab 900 on the advice of a > friend who is really into Saabs, Renault, and other foreign cars.
