sounds like two problems- one might be a valve stem seal popped off the #1 cyl and the other may be a failure of the PVC system. Track down your vent line to the top of the valve cover and take it off and see how much "blowby" your engine produces. If it is excessive, or the PVC valve on the intake is plugged, you may have excessive crankcase pressure. A good indicator besides oil in the distributor) would be how much oil has been blown into the air cleaner.
