Make sure you have read all of other replies and noticed that only one mentioned the composite headlights. The '86 is known as "The last of the cheap headlights". The '86 uses the standard 5"x7" hi/lo headlight, which can be bought as a Halogen sealed beam for $5.99 or Cibie for $50.00. The later models use the composite headlights, which are designed to blend in with the body. These are only $300.00 each. A new turbo unit will cost you $900 while two headlights with bulbs will cost you $650. You could buy an '86 for less than the cost of headlights for an '88. You should not take this as a criticism of the '88 900, but rather one advantage of the '86. Most cars, by all makers after that did the samething. I guess the cars "look" better with the more expensive headlights, besides it sells new cars. In other words, a minor fender bender could total your 11 year old car IF headlights are no longer available. I seem to recall that car makers are NOT REQUIRED to keep parts available for cars older than 10 years, although many do. A car without headlights will never pass a safety inspection. Any updates on this information are welcome. davearklenopsameja.com wrote: > Hi; > > I'm a newbie here, and I'm sure everyone is tired of emails like these, > but... > > I'm shopping for a 900S or Turbo.
