hello, do the Champion plugs that are listed in the Haynes manual not physically match up to the NGK? i was an engineering major, but now am a computer consultant and... <snip - long, boring life story snipped> was partially invovlved in a test wherein we tested, in a perfectly controlled room (with 4 cyl engine, dyno, intake/emissions analysis computer, etc) the differences in all of the equivalent plugs from the different manufacturers. Champion Copper plugs beat ALL other plugs (even Bosch Platinum, NGK, etc) for heat and power of spark. for longevity the Bosch Platinums won out, but if you changed the Champions at the lower to mid range life suggestion they would always end up being the best performing plugs. as such i can't imagine Champion not having the performance to work correctly in a Saab. i have an '87 900 Turbo that has some "miss-firing" type hesitation at higher boost levels, and am planning on very soon doing cap, rotor and wire inspection (and replace if necessary) and then replace plugs. -- Nate t.
