Subject: 9-5 - Abnormal Tyre wear???

Hi, My 9-5SE 2.0 LPT Auto (Mar 1999) that I've owned since new has now covered 11500miles. Took it in today to the dealers to have the Turbo breather banjo recall mod fitted and asked them to look at the tyre wear on the fronts at the same time. Both front tyres have worn, I believe, excessively on the outside edges of the tread - almost to wear limits on the outer inch. Inside and centre have plenty of life left. They checked tracking, and it was within tolerances. They explained that because it was an Auto, tyre wear was likely to be more excessive. But uneven? Anyway, I wasn't convinced - 11500 miles on the fronts on a car that I drive sensibly is way too excessive. They said that they would swap rears with fronts and recheck tracking. Still within tolerances. I asked the mechanic what it could be, and he said it was a "characteristic" of the 9-5. I'm not convinced, and believe something isn't right and I don't know what to do next. I'd like to guage opinion and experience with the group such that I can build some kind of case to get this rectified as a warranty claim. It is my own car, and I can't afford to buy tyres every 11500miles!!! Please could anyone who has covered this sort of mileage in their 9-5 advise me if they have had similar uneven wear issues? Many thanks, Simon
