You said that tyres was worn "almost" on the limit. My mechanic says that the limit 1.6mm need only be satisfied for 75% of the tyre area ? So there could still be some life left in the tyres. Anyway, asymmetric wear would not be not right, but then I understand that the wear is "almost" symmetric. In hindsight, you would have a stronger case if you had diagnosed the problem earlier on. But this is easy to say now. I would try an alternative garage for tracking without mentioning the problem. If there is a real problem, then it can only be due to geometry. Johannes > Simon
