I had a similar problem in my old triumph Dolomite, it turned out that the chasis Earth strap had corroded so it only made intermittent contact, and so the electrics did not have a stable ground to complete the circuit. This had the effect of an apparent 'power drain' where fans, lights, and my radio either funtioned intermittently or at low power. Clean up the connection, re-ground the car aerial and viola a nippy dolomite!. I will admit Saabs seem a lot more complex !, so if this is all nonsense please ignor ! Andy
