Alvin, I have an 87 9000S myself. Check your pulleys to make sure they are not binding, and then readjust your serpentine and A/C belt. If they are too tight, it will pull down your gas mileage and the engine will feel tight. If they are too loose, they could squeal. Squealing could also be caused by a binding or bad pulley. Since buying my 9000 in December of 97, I have replaced all pulleys, the A/C compressor, alternator and recently the water pump. I have over 189,000 on mine. Ken Washington 87 9000S 87 900S 83 900T
