Subject: Re: 1994 9000CS timing chain

There is one thing you should consider when experimenting with your DI unit like this. There is oil (acting as an isolator around the coils) in the unit. If you run the DI unit not mounted, make sure you hold it with the sparkplugs facing DOWN, or you risk having this oil in the wrong place which may result in a short circuit. Ok? By running it the way you did (probably with the DI unit lying on its "back") you may well have destroyd it.....:( Why dont you tow you car to saab and give them five minutes to change both ECU and DI to sort this out? Saab also have a special DI unit that can be used to collect more diagnostic information (exactly what, I dont know). /M coxinga wrote: > In article <8fstvp$lgl$1nopsam1.deja.com>, > coxinga <coxinganopsameja.com> wrote: > > In article <8frsfo$et9$1nopsam1.deja.com>, > > coxinga <coxinganopsameja.com> wrote: > > > After returning from vacation in the end of April, I got a motor > with > > > 69k miles to replace mine 100k mile one which was damaged when the > > > Woodruff key was sheared off at the tip on the timing chain > sprocket, > > > making it not turning the cam. > > > > > > After considerable car putting in the motor, it won't start.
