Subject: 1997 SAAB 9000 Aero question



Yesterday I bought a 1997 SAAB 9000 Aero with an automatic transmission.
While I realize that the ideal vehicle would have had a 5 speed manual
transmission, the car is immaculate ~ it was a one owner vehicle with only
64,000km. As a result, why does the automatic transmission receive such
negative publicity among SAAB enthusiasts? Has this particular unit proven
to be unreliable, or do driving 'purists' simply insist on a manual
transmission. Perhaps I'm fortunate that there is still a one year factory
warranty remaining.........
