The fear of turbos is exaggerated, they last as well provided you stick to some simple precautions: Always use synthetic oils and change regularly. Don't push the engine before it has reached working temperature. Let the engine idle a little while before switching off (I often forget this). Naturally, turbos require that the engine is in a good state of tune, otherwise secondary problems can occur. The hoses must be free from air leaks. Any problems of rough running, hesitation, temperature etc. must be dealt with immediately. Johannes
