The only way to increase boost safely is with a modified APC box. Thus maintaining the ability to lower boost when engine knock is detected, the knock sensor can detect engine damaging pre-detonation, way before you can hear it. Above all, you must have a working APC system before proceding with any other modifications, unless you are willing to sacrifice a piston and I know that you don't want to do that.
