According to the SAAB official service manual (page 110-16), 1990-1993
900 5-speed trans. oil do not have a drain plug. It has a dip stick (I'm
sure you found that) and you're supposed to check the level and top it 
off. However, last summer my mechanic did indeed CHANGE the oil somehow
(maybe he siphoned it from the refill opening, but I don't know).
