Subject: HELP - Power Steering res. broke...

Hi, my power steering reservoir on my 1987 turbo convertible was broken by a mechanic today. He was unable to get the part before the part department closed at the Saab dealer, so he rigged it up to get me home. Well, it didn't make it home. About halfway home I felt my power steering go, and just before home the car started losing power on a massive level. When I stopped I noticed the crack in the reservoir, and that the engine (or power steering pump) was trying to suck the little bit that was in it out. Here are my questions... 1 - what other damage could have occured during my 30+ mile trip home from work. 2 - is replacing the reservoir as easy as it looks to be, providing I can get the part tomorrow. 3 - how much fluid should I expect it to need 4 - what should I do to the mechanic (or organization) that made this huge error in telling me it was safe to get home!!! Hint: the car went in for shocks and someone leaned on the reservoir to break it, the company's name begins with an M and ends with an S. Lost In Brooklyn... David M. Green
