Ron, I have the same issue with the key and remote. Bear in mind that you don't *have* to carry the remote. You can do everything with the key that you can do with the remote. What bothers me more...and I forgot to list this in my list of minor complaints the other day...is that I have to do everything twice to unlock all the doors. One beep on the remote unlocks the driver's door, a second beep unlocks the other 3 passenger doors. Or one turn of the key unlocks the driver's door, a second turn unlocks the other 3. Or one press of the interior unlock button unlocks the driver's door, a second press unlocks the other 3.
