Looking over the shoulder while driving is a bad habit, I think. One can't see what is up front when one looks over the shoulder. Therefore, getting used to drive with the aid of mirrors is very helpful because you'll always know instantly what's behind while your eye is never taken off completely of what's in front. As far as the Saab is concerned, if you have the money, buy one. This is the absolute best car I ever had. I hope General Motors doesn't screw it up and make it a disposable piece of shit like it does to its other products.
