All old SAABs smell of gas, I've always thought. Part of their charm. I tend to live with all but the worst problems, since you can get into serious money replacing all the old plastic and rubber parts that might be aging. (And sell the cars on a minimum amount of gas in the tank.) When it's especially pronounced on a full tank of gas, you can look for leaks in the hoses and plastic parts from the fuel filler neck on down. You have to pull the carpeted rear floor panel, not a big deal. A handy tool in locating the source of the leaks is a Hydrocarbons sniffer emissions tuning rig. If removing the fuel filler cap (the twistoff part) gives you a little sound of suction, it's less likely to be between there and the fuel tank itself, so look in the fuel line from the pump on out. -- Good luck, Buddy Buddy Donnelly donnellynopsamabay.rr.com
