Craig, Please do not take this as a flippant remark, but if you take a look at the motor portion of the assembly, It may be that just the brushes are bad and need to be replaced. I do not know what this looks like, but I have seen similar assemblies. If the motor can be divorced from the rest of the pump assembly, you may be best served to look in the phone book to find an electric motor repair shop in your area and see if they can repair the motor. It may only need a set of brushes. I do not have any experience with these, but it may be worth a look. I only own hard top cars... If I am way off base here, surely someone with experience with convertible top motors will pipe up.
