i own an '82 Saab 900, no A/C. recently, the cabin blower fan quit running when controled by fan speed dial switch on the dashboard, but it would run when controled by cabin ventilation options dial [larger round switch; some of these settings also determine fan speed]. then after i fiddled with the ventilation options dial, the fan operation stopped completely, it blew the fan fuse. after replacing it, i got the initial behavior back - no fan when using fan dial switch, but fan opertaion when using cabin ventilation dial. i took the fuse back out, as i didn't want to blow another one. it seems like it may be a problem in the fan speed dial switch or associated wiring, causing the fan to not run with that switch, and to eventually blow the fan fuse when the fan is controlled by the ventilation options switch. are there any places in the fan switch wiring people would suggest that i look at first? does it seem like a short, or something more complicated? thanks for any help. scott andrews sha3unopsaminia.edu
